其实早在2005年，Alexandra就已经参加了X-Factor的选秀，可惜的是Walsh没有给她机会参加决赛，因为他觉得Alexandra年龄太小，并不适合。所幸Alexandra没有就此放弃。2008年，Alexandra再一次站在了X-Facor的舞台上，并一举夺得冠军！她也是继Leona Lewis后，第二名女性冠军。

week 9(American Classics&Contestant’s choice):演唱Rihanna的Don’t Stop the Music，又一次得到评委的一致赞赏（Louis称她为the British Beyoncé， Simon 说”…We may be seeing the birth of a star here… you’ve got it all, that was a terrific performance”)
week 10:和Beyoncé一起演唱Listen，随后演唱Leonard Cohen的Hallelujah，最终以58%的得票（比第二名JLS多100多万票）

在比赛后，Alexandra收到Beyoncé关于英国巡演的邀请。除此之外，她还被50 Cent邀请参加他的Music Video制作。
随后，Alexandra的首单Hallelujah在UK Singles Chart上大放异彩，不仅打败了同门师姐Leona Lewis的单曲，登上榜首，还打破了A Moment Like This的单日82,000次的记录，短短一日就卖到105,000张。
在2009年的全英音乐奖上，Alexandra的Hallelujah和Hero双双被提名为最佳年度歌曲奖。
现在，Alexandra已经开始了她的首张专辑的制作。这张专辑已经确定了4首歌，并将于11月和大家见面。目前Pharell Williams, Will.I.Am, Diddy and Akon确定会参与专辑的制作。Beyoncé将会和Alexandra合作一首歌。Simon Cowell相信通过一年的精心准备，Alexandra会取得和Leona Lewis同样的成就。Beyoncé在听过Alexandra的新专辑的部分歌曲后，也连连称赞，相信她会走向世界，成为R&B界又一巨星！ 让我们拭目以待！
